Dear Santa

We're getting ready for the Christmas season decorating the house, looking at lights, reading the Christmas Story and of course making a Christmas list. This is really the first year that Cam has really had a list. Not too bad for a four year old, but some of his wishes are definitely big boy wishes and it kinda makes me sad my baby has grown so very fast. He also included his brother which was absolutely darling.

Dear Santa,
I tried to be good this year. I am sorry for not being good all the time. Keiler was being good for a little boy. I like you because you have a funny hat. I will try to be good and listen to my mom and dad. May I please have some toys? The toys I would like are:

Bunk beds with Thomas sheets for me and winnie the pooh sheets for Keiler
Garbage truck legos set
Rocky the robot truck
Color changing cars (for Keiler’s car track)
Nerf blast gun
Star wars light saber
Little legos Helicopter Transporter
A blue camera (tough kid)
Hungry hungry hippos(for Keiler), Gator Golf (for me), Connect 4 x 4, Guess Who, Uno Attack, Trouble, New candy land game (Sweet celebrations 3D) Saucer Scramble
Tonka Wheels Pals Garage (for Keiler)
Toy Story video game and more video games
Basketball, football and soccer ball(for Keiler)
Trackmaster Thomas and Friends – Spin and Fix(I really want that and the new movie)
A toy gun like Natalie made from Pops

I’ll share all of this with my brother and Natalie. It’s okay if I don’t get all of these toys but the toys I would like most to have are: Gator Golf for brother and Natalie and the Thomas Spin and fix.
I promise we’ll give you cookies and milk and leave food for your reindeer. I love you and thank you for being nice. I want to pet your reindeer.
Love
Cameron (and Keiler)

Now Santa has already picked the Thomas fix and spin, Hungry Hippos and Gator Golf for the kids so he was on the ball this year. If only Mommy and Daddy would now...

OH!

So while I was grocery shopping this weekend, Adam and Cameron were putting up the lights. Before bed that night Cam asked me if he could go out into the garage and look at the Thomas fixer!!!! HOLY PETE!!! What was I going to do?! So I asked him where and he tried to get over there but was hard with the door shut and so I told him we'd look in the morning when there was light out. Great. My kid is 4 and I already blew Santa. Nice. I told him he probably found stuff in our goodwill pile with toys and clothes we were giving away. I said it was old boxes over there (and it was! Just not that one;) ) and probably he was just imagining things because he wanted it so bad. When they were asleep I trash bagged it and hopefully hid it even better. HOPEFULLY.

The next morning the first thing he wanted to do was go look so I opened the garage door to take out trash and let him look around. He couldn't find it and you know, you just can't argue with good ole' four year old reasoning. "MOM! Santa must have taken it to his workshop! It's gone, like magic, it's gone!" He went on and on and I said he must have been really wishing for it to imagine seeing it. Nice, huh? He's been so funny about the whole thing and you can imagine how relieved I was that his first and only thought was Santa.

There is so much to blog about and I have sorely neglected this, but I don't think anyone checks this anymore...right? Email me or comment me if I should keep it.

As far as note worthy events:

Congrats Scott and Erin on their new bundle of joy! I'm so excited for you guys and your new endeavor into parenthood. I hope you find the blessings that I do every single day.

Funny:

So last night Cam pushed Kei and he fell over. Then Kei gets up and hugs his big brother and hands him a toy. So very forgiving and sweet. I ask Cam how that makes him feel. "Your brother loves you even when you are mean to him. He loves you so much and you should treat him nicely. So, what does that make you want to be?"

Cam replies, "An alien in a costume to scare him and then play with him."

I was thinking along the lines of "good big brother" but clearly I'm not a 4 year old boy. They really do get along great. Especially at bedtime when they should be sleeping.

It's been an eventful month. We're having fun with the Christmas season. My children and Adam are the best gifts-EVER!
