Cute pics

They were both smiling and I had my camera on the wrong setting! :( But it's still cute.
They are so different, but have some very, VERY similar traits.
That's my little piggy!
Cam wanted to "hold" his baby brother.

Like a weed

My baby is just growing like a weed! They grow so fast in the first year, but it seems that they're brains develop like crazy in the second year. Cameron is getting so very smart. Tonight he asked to spend the night with Grammy and Pops (my parents) but since tomorrow is Thanksgiving and we have plans he couldn't. He looked like he was going to cry. I've never seen him so...sad. Not throw a fit because he didn't get what he wanted sad, but truly sad. It just seemed a little complex to me. So, we told him he could spend the night with them Thurs. night. Anyways, they are growing so fast.

He's starting to grab and bat at toys now!
He plays "peek-a-boo" all the time with those little hands.

His hair is getting a darker, redder color.

Not as shrimpy as before!

Great Memaw

My great grandmother and the boys' great great grandmother, Arlie Disrens, passed away this past week. It's so amazing to get to see just what two people can leave behind. I saw family I haven't seen in years and it was awesome. She'll be very missed, but we'll see her again.

Cameron was very well mannered for the whole event. He even fell asleep during services. Keiler, however, had an agenda of his own.
Cameron was showing his Opa how he can count.

That is my great Aunt Georgia and her grandson, Holt, and her sister (my Memaw) with her great grandson. It was just cute seeing the grandmas and their babies.

We actually almost got Cameron still enough for a shot of just us.

Crablike Spiny Orb Weavers

Apparently we have a spider haven in our back yard. Given how many trees are in the neighborhood I guess it's kinda reasonable to think we'd see quite a few. A spider is a spider is a spider but, since we've moved in here, we've actually seen quite a few different varieties and their amazing work. It's kinda silly to be so taken aback by something like this and posting a blog, but I thought this little fella was just really neat. Cam and I looked at him and his home for a while this morning while we were playing.

I've also seen this posted as a smiley faced spider. I went to check to make sure it wouldn't harm us while we looked at it and it's home and found a variety of different names.

We've seen huge orb weavers in the trees in our backyard and they make very beautiful detailed webs. This spiny variety makes a web just as gorgeous and detailed but smaller. Also, he's just so neat to look at!

You can see from our yard down the street just how many trees we have. Not only is our yard a spider haven but a squirrel refuge as well. They are so amusing. I have some pictures of them sitting on Cameron's swing.

He has the cutest bed-head ever!

All smiles

About two weeks ago the smiles began! I love this part of babyhood. The coos and gahs are beginning as well. He's still not sleeping through the night consistently. I couldn't imagine going back to work with his "routine" being what it is. He'll sleep a good stretch at night, but it could begin at 8 and end at 3am or it could beging at 11 and end at 7 am. I just never know from night to night. We do start the day at about the same time and get one good nap in at the same time as well, but our afternoons are a mess. That is when he really starts changing up his feedings and sleeping patterns. We'll get it. He's 8 weeks old today and goes in next week for his 2 month shots. It seems like he just got here, yet 2 months have passed us by. He's getting so very big from the little baby I could hold in one arm just a few weeks ago. It's well worth those grins.

I love how his whole face just beams!

Some of his faces just make us all laugh. Cameron loves to make his baby brother smile and make silly faces. He'll sit there and make silly faces at Kei to get one in return.

Halloween

A ton of new things have happened since my last post, but I'm going to keep this one all about our Halloween. There are some pictures lurking around somewhere of us all going trick-or-treating, but I can't seem to find them. This was Cam's (and my) first year of trick-or-treating. He was so funny. We used this opportunity to meet our neighbors since I haven't done so yet. Cameron, however, felt that we needed to know them intimately as he kept trying to go into everyone's house. He kept grabbing for more candy-he was pretty loaded before we even left- and trying to eat it as it was being given to him. It was his first so we let him finally have a sucker to eat while we finished our neighborhood.

Cameron's current phase is all about music. He wants us to play Guitar Hero all the time and everything is a guitar. Baseball bat, rackets, straws, cups, pretty much anything you can hold serves an additional task of being a guitar. We're usually singing the Wiggles and my personal favorite is his metal rendition of "Fruit Salad, Yummy, Yummy". That and his electric guitar wail where he gets his head in on the action as well. It doesn't stop at the guitar though. Those straws, wooden spoons, bowls, pots, pillows, crayons, chalk, and so much more serves as his own drum set. He has great rhythm. There is also the "peeno". He has a car launcher set that have piano-like keys, and he's also got a toy piano. Anyways, the point I'm getting at is his costume - a punk rocker! He was so cute! I didn't get any great pictures though. He had spiky hair sprayed green, a nose stud, and eyeliner for the dark punk look. I used face paint though. Can you imagine putting eyeliner on a two year old? It's not easy.

Rockin' hard to the Wiggles.

Making rockstar faces. We had fun practicing!

We bypassed the makeup for school, but we still kept the green hair and nose stud.

You can see the stud in his nose when you click on the pic.

Well, after trick-or-treating and some pizza (pumpkin shaped pizza no less) we went to the trunk-or-treat at Grandma and Grandpa's church (Vicki and Daniel). There, we got to play some games, hear some scripture and get even more loaded on sugar.

Cam and Grandpa

Grandma and Keiler, our little pumpkin. A friend gave us this darling outfit for his first Halloween.

Givin' Grandma sugars

Those were some crazy glasses Grandma.

The name of this was "Seek and you shall find." The kids were supposed to learn a lesson while digging for candy, but Cam would rather just play in the hay. I, however, found hay in his diaper that night.

You can see his little hat better in this shot.
Aunt Vikki got to come with us and enjoy Kei's first Halloween.
