bump on head

Yesterday Cameron got his first goose egg. So he's been going around saying, "bump on head." The best I can figure how it happened is he pushed my desk chair into the kitchen - which is only like 4 feet away-and as he was climbing into the chair to get something off the counter, the chair rolled out from underneath him and he busted it on the floor...head on. I ran to the kitchen and aside from a couple of tears he appeared ok. About a minute or so later I noticed this huge knot above his left eye and that is when I effectively lost it freaking him out even more. He kept saying, "Mommy, okay? Mommy, okay?" It just kept getting bigger and bigger, I was so scared! Thank goodness Adam missed class yesterday morning, he took Cameron and I got him some ice. It was at that point I decided we should go to the ER. Adam suggested we call the pediatrician first so I did and we were doing everything right. Today the swelling has gone down a bunch; He just looks like his forehead is slightly misshapen. We followed him around all day trying to keep "Super the Man" from busting his head again. He was back to climbing in chairs and jumping off of beds in no time. I was about to have a heart attack! Anyways we tried to get some shots of it, but the swelling had already gone down quite a bit by lunch. I guess what bothered me most was how I lost complete control! I hope it's just because I'm pregnant. I nearly burned down our last apartment and didn't freak out at all! I've worked with kids who have done far worse and for some reason I just lost all objectivity. I hope I can get a grip next time as I'm sure there will be.

And before you say it...yes that is a cream soda, and no we didn't let him have the whole can, just a few drinks of what was left. No this isn't a normal habit, but I felt bad for him.

Keiler's new due date

Most of you know I've been debating with the decision to be induced early to ensure Adam's presence and to make life a little bit easier for everyone else as this is a really hectic time. So, considering everything and being completely assured by my Dr. that this is safe for me and Keiler I've decided to go ahead with the induction.

As of today, my Dr. pre-approved Sept. 11-14 for arrival days. I still have examinations and his final say, but this is a pretty good window. Right now, I'm planning on Thurs. the 13. This gets Adam through school for the week and hopefully allows aunt Heather to be there for her nephew's delivery before moving to Dallas.

Some of you have mentioned wanting to help and I would sincerely appreciate it! Adam only gets a few days off, but classes for the most part will remain in the schedule. You can leave me a comment any time you need if you have questions.

I love you all and can't wait to share the newest McNew with you!

Baby time...

I'm almost there. I have a month from today before Keiler is due to make his grand debut. I'm so tired though! Chasing Cameron has become a chore itself. This kid has energy to burn!

I'm seriously considering induction. My Dr. said that since I had a healthy pregnancy and a healthy pregnancy and delivery previously that he would be willing to induce depending on dilation, effacement... So it's going to be a week by week call. I really don't want to, but with Adam working full time and going to class in Tyler 4 days a week, Heather moving to Dallas and Cameron starting school, it just seems more convenient. My Dr. did say he wouldn't induce before 38 weeks though, so not a major difference, but at least everyone would know where to be and when. I just kinda want to be surprised.

Anyways, the reason I'm here is because we did the most redneck thing you can imagine tonight. It was so bad and more evidence that I'm just too darn tired. My brother Josh brought his truck over so we could wash it and to help me wash my car. Well, Heather of course was there. We decided to do this after dinner so it would be cooler. Cam loves to play in the water and there wasn't much sun so it was perfect. After getting soaked Cam decided to spray all of us. He thought that was dandy. Anywho, it's getting dark and we're frantically washing the truck before there is no light left. We didn't quite make it, but I think we got it clean. I digress. Cam was throwing a huge fit about going in and taking a bath so I had Aunt Nat Nat go in and get a towel and his shampoo. Yep, I bathed my son outside with a hose. He thought it was funny to shampoo outside. I'm telling you all for the sake of no arguments. AND he made it to bed on time. See I told you - Redneck.

I just had to post this. I don't know what my sister, aka "Aunt Kay Kay" was doing, but she sure got a great shot!

my new camera

So we actually got our new camera today!!! I'm so happy! :) It's a Nikon Coolpix-reliable, but nothing expensive or fancy. I love it! It has the burst shoot mode with a gazillion lighting and photo options. So, hopefully I'll get to post recent pics a little more frequently.

This was one of the burst shot images. It's crazy to see the frames in a row; it's like looking at a flip book. Oh, he was saying "one more, one more gum." Clearly I said no.

Obviously I had to play with as many settings as I could figure out. The sepia is nice to see before the shot. I can never get it to look right with my imaging software.

This was one of the scene mode shots. It's just a katydid on the patio, but I thought it turned out to be a neat looking picture.

Cameron and Daddy were playing on the patio. Another of the rapid shots. I love it! You are almost guaranteed at least one good shot.
